19-Year-Old Arrested in Courtice After Attempted Residential Break-In

A 19-year-old man was arrested after an attempted break-and-enter at a residence in Courtice on Friday, June 20, 2025, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

Police responded to a call at approximately 10:20 a.m. about a suspicious person in the area of Solina Road and Baseline Road West. The complainant reported that an unknown male was on her property and attempting to break into her home. The suspect fled after the homeowner yelled at him, prior to police arrival.

DRPS stated that officers set up a perimeter in the area. With assistance from the K9 and drone units, officers located the suspect hiding in bushes in a nearby greenspace. Police said a drone operator directed officers to the suspect, who was arrested without incident.

According to DRPS, the suspect has been identified as Davin Singh, 19, of Oshawa. Police reported that Singh is charged with Attempt Break and Enter – Dwelling/House.
