202 Arrested in Durham Police 'Project GIANT' Operation Across Region
Investigators with the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Offender Management Unit arrested 202 people, executed 267 warrants, and laid 406 charges during an eight-week operation across Durham Region, according to DRPS. The operation, called Project GIANT, was conducted from March to May 2025 and focused on arresting individuals with outstanding warrants, particularly for Fail to Comply and Fail to Appear offences.

Fifty-five were released, and DRPS reports that 15 of those released were subsequently re-arrested or alleged to have re-offended within weeks.
