49-Year-Old Man Dies After Single Vehicle Collision on Kerrison Drive East in Ajax

A 49-year-old man died after a single vehicle collision on Kerrison Drive East in Ajax on Monday, May 12, 2025, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

This incident is relevant to Ajax residents as it occurred on a local roadway and resulted in a fatality, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

DRPS reported that West Division officers responded at approximately 9:50 p.m. to a collision involving a Toyota Sienna van on private property. The police stated the driver lost control, causing the van to strike a concrete barrier wall and sustain extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

DRPS said members of the Collision Investigation Unit closed the private property for several hours to collect evidence. As of May 13, police indicated that the investigation is ongoing.

DRPS has asked anyone with information about the incident or who witnessed the collision to contact Detective Constable Latour of the Traffic Services Branch. According to police, anonymous information can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
