61-Year-Old Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Ajax Collision
A 61-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kingston Road West and Chapman Drive in Ajax on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Members of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) West Division responded to the scene at approximately 5:45 p.m.
According to DRPS, the collision involved a blue Toyota Corolla, driven by a 60-year-old Pickering woman, and a black Honda Accord, driven by an 18-year-old Pickering man. The driver of the Toyota was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Her passenger, a 61-year-old Pickering woman, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Police stated that the driver of the Honda Accord was not injured. Two passengers in the Honda, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman, were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to investigate. The cause of the collision has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
