79-Year-Old Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Bowmanville

A 79-year-old man died after a single-vehicle crash in Bowmanville on Sunday, July 6, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Bennett Road, north of Port Darlington Road, DRPS said. Police stated the vehicle was travelling westbound on Kissingbridge Lane when it left the roadway, crossed a field, and struck an embankment near Bennett Road.

The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, according to police. Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene, and police said Bennett Road was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.

DRPS said the collision remains under investigation.
