Bowmanville Avenue to Close Overnight for Bridge Construction, Durham Region Advises

According to Durham Region, Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) in Clarington will be closed between Byers Road and Concession Road 10 from 8 p.m. on August 7 to 6 a.m. on August 8. The Region advises that this closure is to allow for construction to replace the Burketon Station bridge over the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Railway.

This temporary closure may affect travel through the area during the specified time. The Region noted that the schedule could change if weather conditions are unfavourable.

Durham Region has asked drivers to use caution in the area during the closure for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews. No further details about the bridge replacement project or suggested detour routes were provided in the announcement. For updates on construction and traffic, residents can access the Region’s interactive map at durham.ca/TrafficWatch.
