Bowmanville Avenue Widening Project Details

The Regional Municipality of Durham has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study for improving Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) from Baseline Road to Nash Road through the Bowmanville urban area in Clarington. The study concluded that widening Bowmanville Avenue from two to four lanes with a multi-use path and sidewalk is the preferred design.

The project is divided into several segments:

  • South of King Street West (Regional Highway 2) to north of Stevens Road: Currently in the construction phase.
  • Baseline Road to South of King Street West (Regional Highway 2): Currently in the design phase.
  • North of Stevens Road to Nash Road: Currently in the design phase.
