Bowmanville Library to host December storytimes on Christmas, Kwanzaa and Chanukah
Clarington Library, Museums & Archives will host three drop-in storytime programs at the Bowmanville Library on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 (10:30–11:30 a.m.), Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 (10:30 a.m.–noon), and Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025 (6–7 p.m.). All sessions are open to all ages and do not require advance registration.
Each session focuses on a different cultural holiday and features a community partner.
The Christmas Storytime Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Planned content includes the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, including the shepherds, angels and wisemen, along with stories, songs and crafts. The event is presented with St. Paul’s United Church.
The Kwanzaa Storytime Celebration is set for Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The program will cover the origin, history and significance of Kwanzaa, including the “Ngozo Saba,” or The Seven Principles. Activities include storytelling with Kesha Christie of Talkin’ Tales, crafts, prizes and snacks. The event is presented with the Durham Family and Cultural Centre.
The Chanukah Storytime Celebration will take place on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m. Planned activities include stories, songs, crafts and traditional snacks. The event is presented with the Chabad Jewish Centre of Durham Region.
