Bowmanville Rotary Club to Host Street Eats Festival at Rickard Centre in June

The Bowmanville Rotary Club will hold its inaugural Street Eats Festival at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreational Complex, 2440 Regional Hwy 2 in Bowmanville, on June 28 and 29. The event will run from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is set at $2 per person, with no charge for children aged 12 and under.

The festival, according to the Bowmanville Rotary Club, will include food trucks serving Mexican, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Canadian foods. Planned activities include music, face-painting, clown acts, balloon art, games, and an appearance by a person in a Spiderman costume. The club states that beverages from Brock Street Brewery of Durham will be sold in the beverage tent.

Event organizer Laurie Suikki described the event as a fundraiser to support Rotary initiatives locally and internationally. The Bowmanville Rotary Club reports that it manages local programs such as Family Respite Care and the Watershed Cleanup and supports international projects related to maternal and child health, water, hygiene, sanitation, and polio eradication.
