Bus Service Changes in Clarington and Durham Region Coming September 2, 2025

According to Durham Region Transit (DRT), bus service updates will take effect across its network on September 2, 2025. DRT states that the changes include new routes, expanded service areas, and bus stop relocations to address increased travel demand following the summer months.

The updates will affect communities such as Bowmanville, Pickering, Whitby, and Oshawa. DRT reports that Route 505 will begin offering peak-period service between downtown Bowmanville and Port Darlington.

According to DRT, Route 112 in Pickering is being extended to Alexander Knox Road and Peter Matthews Drive, with additional stops planned for these neighbourhoods. DRT also notes that Route 315 in Whitby will provide new peak-period service between Whitby Station and Port Whitby.

DRT states that Route 403B will be reinstated in Oshawa to offer weekday peak service along Stevenson Road, targeting employment areas. In Whitby, DRT reports that Route 917 will be rerouted along Stellar Drive to continue serving Durham College Whitby Campus and local employment zones.

Seasonal services ending for the year include Route 224C to the Ajax waterfront, Route 917Z to the Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park, and weekend service to the Pickering waterfront, according to DRT.

DRT also states that some bus stops on Taunton Road, Rossland Road, and King Street have been relocated for operational reasons.
