CFIA issues Class 1 recall of Beretta Chicken Pot Pie in Ontario over undeclared egg

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a Class 1 food recall warning on Sept. 24, 2025, for Beretta brand Chicken Pot Pie because egg is not declared on the label. Distribution is listed as Ontario, and one reaction has been reported, the agency said.

CFIA warned that undeclared egg can cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people who are allergic or sensitive. The recall covers all packages where egg is not listed on the label.

According to CFIA, the affected product is the 908 g Beretta Chicken Pot Pie (UPC 8 33307 00400 2), and the recalling firm is Beretta Farms.

CFIA advised the public to check whether they have the recalled product. The agency said people who are allergic or sensitive to egg should not consume it. CFIA also instructed that the product should not be served, used, sold or distributed. The agency said recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

CFIA said the recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The agency is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products. CFIA said it is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace.

The notice was published Sept. 24, 2025, and last updated the same day, CFIA said. The agency lists the alert type as a food recall warning and categorizes the product under Food – Meat and poultry – Frozen. Identification numbers are RA-78127 and CFIA ID 16774. The notice lists the audience as the general public and the distribution area as Ontario. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is the publisher of the recall notice.
