CFIA recalls Clément le Gourmand pâté and mousse products sold in Quebec over possible Listeria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a Class 1 food recall warning for three Clément le Gourmand brand processed meat products distributed in Quebec due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. CFIA said the recall was last updated Aug. 14, 2026.

CFIA warned that food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. The agency said pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

CFIA identified the affected products as 150 g packages with code 2026SE18 00003:

• Clément le Gourmand Country-style Pâté (UPC 6 28872 50101 4)
• Clément le Gourmand Duck Liver Mousse with Port (UPC 6 28872 50301 8)
• Clément le Gourmand Liver Pâté with Cognac (UPC 6 28872 50004 8)

CFIA said consumers and businesses should not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled products. CFIA said recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

The recall was triggered by CFIA test results, the agency said. CFIA also said there have been no reported illnesses associated with consuming the products.

The recalling firm is Boucherie Charcuterie Lyn Tremblay Inc.

CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products, and that it is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.

CFIA said symptoms of listeriosis can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. The agency said infected pregnant women may have mild, flu-like symptoms, but infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or stillbirth, and that in severe cases people may die.

The recall identification number is RA-82491.
