CFIA recalls Cucina d’Oro pesto over improperly declared cashew

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for certain 212 ml jars of Cucina d’Oro brand pesto because cashew is not properly declared on the label. CFIA’s recall date is Sept. 2, 2026, and the affected products were distributed in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.

Undeclared cashew is a concern for people with tree nut allergies. CFIA says people should not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products.

The recalled product is Cucina d’Oro Pesto (212 ml) with UPC 8 51119 10030 9 and code B.LM 356. The production date is 12/22/2023 and the expiry date is 01/03/2027.

A second affected product is Cucina d’Oro Pesto (212 ml) with UPC 8 51119 00129 3 and Lot K085. The production date is 03/26/2026 and the expiry date is 03/26/2029.

The recalling firm is Vera Trima Import Export Inc. CFIA lists the recall as Class 3.

The CFIA identification number for the recall notice is RA-82603. The notice was originally published on Sept. 4, 2026, and was last updated the same day, according to the agency.
