CFIA recalls Les Aliments Johnvince raw pecan halves sold in Quebec over possible Salmonella
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a food recall warning on Feb. 5, 2026, for Les Aliments Johnvince brand Pecans Halves Raw (230 g) after the product was recalled from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. The agency listed distribution as Quebec.
For residents who may have bought the product, the notice includes specific identification details and guidance on what to do. Salmonella-contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness.
The recalled product is Les Aliments Johnvince Pecans Halves Raw in a 230 g package with UPC 0 55144 52282 6. The affected code is Lot: 5 839 2, with a best-before date printed as “2027-mars-30.”
The agency says people should not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled product. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased, according to the notice.
The CFIA says young children, pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems may be more likely to develop serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea, and long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
The recall was triggered by CFIA test results. No illnesses have been reported, the agency said.
The CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products, and it is checking that the product is being removed from stores.
The recalling firm is Distributions Alimentaires Le Marquis Inc. The recall is listed as Class 2 with identification number RA-81569.
