CFIA recalls Mushmoshi enoki mushrooms over possible Listeria contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food recall warning on Feb. 2, 2026, for Mushmoshi brand Enoki Mushroom (200 g) because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The product was distributed in British Columbia and possibly other provinces and territories.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, and the CFIA says pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

The recalled product is Mushmoshi Enoki Mushroom (200 g), UPC 6 931787 400001, with the code 08/03/2026.

The CFIA advises people not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute recalled products. The agency says recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

According to the CFIA, the recall was triggered by agency test results. The CFIA said there have been no reported illnesses linked to the product.

The CFIA notes that food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

The agency said infected pregnant women may experience mild, flu-like symptoms, but the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or stillbirth. In severe cases, people may die.

Longsheng (Canada) Agricultural Products Ltd. is the recalling firm.

The CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to recalls of other products, and it is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace. The recall is classified as Class 1 and has identification number RA-81563.
