CFIA recalls no name chopped walnuts due to possible shell fragments
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for no name brand chopped walnuts due to possible shell fragments. The agency advised people not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products. Distribution is listed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
The notice lists package sizes, UPCs and best-before/lot codes so shoppers can check their cupboards.
The recall covers two sizes of no name chopped walnuts:
- no name chopped walnuts — 400 g (UPC 0 60383 01845 0)
- no name chopped walnuts — 100 g (UPC 0 60383 64384 3)
The agency advised shoppers to compare the best-before date and lot code on the package with the affected codes. The codes may also include a time (HH:MM).

For the 100 g package (UPC 0 60383 64384 3), the affected codes are:
- BEST BEFORE 2027 JA 30 — Lot B6120 RB SF
- BEST BEFORE 2027 MR 01 — Lot B6152 RB SF
- BEST BEFORE 2027 MR 17 — Lot B6168 RB SF
- BEST BEFORE 2027 MR 24 — Lot B6175 RB SF
