CFIA recalls Yotvata Caciotta Peperoncino cheese in Ontario and Quebec over Staphylococcus aureus

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled Yotvata brand Caciotta Peperoncino Cheese because of microbial contamination involving Staphylococcus aureus. The recall is dated Sept. 16, and the agency published its notice on Sept. 18. The product was distributed in Ontario and Quebec.

The recall notice lists product details intended to help shoppers identify the affected cheese, including package size, UPC, product code and the best-before date.

The recalled product is Yotvata Caciotta Peperoncino Cheese sold in a 250 g package.

The UPC on the affected product is 8 00395 0003017 and the code is LUG 26.

The best-before date listed is May 31, 2027.

The recalling firm is Altra Foods Inc.

The CFIA said consumers should not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product. The recall is classified as Class 2 and carries identification number RA-82645.
