Chocofolie Chocolates Recalled in Quebec for Possible Salmonella Contamination

Chocofolie brand “Chocolat Dubaï - chocolat au lait kunafa & pistache” chocolates are being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The recall, announced on September 4, 2025, applies to 145-gram packages marked with code 225076. The product does not carry a UPC. The affected products were distributed in Quebec.

This recall is part of an ongoing investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak, as stated by the CFIA. The Public Health Agency of Canada is also investigating related cases of human illness. The CFIA says the investigation is ongoing and may lead to additional recalls if more products are identified. The agency reports it is verifying that recalled items are being removed from sale.

The CFIA said that food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Groups at higher risk for serious and sometimes fatal infection include young children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms in healthy individuals may include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. In some cases, long-term complications such as severe arthritis may develop.

Recall identification number RA-78030 has been assigned to this notice. The recalling firm is Les Sucreries Chocofolie Inc., according to the CFIA.
