Clarington Adds Online Pre-Registration for Adult Shinny Hockey
Clarington has begun offering online pre-registration for Adult Shinny Hockey drop-in sessions, following an announcement from the municipality on June 23, 2025. The new system enables adult hockey players to reserve spots in advance before arriving at participating recreation facilities.
This change applies to both adult and women's shinny hockey sessions, according to the municipality. Online pre-registration is not available for youth, 55+, 65+, or 70+ shinny hockey categories.
Registration for adult shinny hockey sessions opens each Monday at 7 a.m. for the following week. The municipality stated that non-residents can register starting Tuesdays at 7 a.m. Players have the option to check real-time session availability and book through the online system. The municipality’s website includes instructions for using the online registration system, which can be accessed in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
The municipality advised that players may continue to register in person by speaking with a customer service representative at a Clarington recreation facility.
No changes were announced for eligibility or scheduling of youth or older adult shinny hockey sessions.
