Clarington Council Designates Roy House Farmstead as Heritage Property
The Municipality of Clarington has passed By-law 2025-026 designating the property at 2774 Concession Road 6 in Darlington as a site of architectural and historical value under the Ontario Heritage Act.
This designation applies to the Roy House Farmstead and was made under Part IV Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.O.18.
According to the public notice, residents may appeal the designation by filing with the municipal clerk through the Ontario Land Tribunal’s e-file service or by mail to 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville, by 4:30 p.m. on July 29, 2025. Appeals received after the deadline will be recorded as received the next business day.
Appeals must include the reasons for objection, and the required fee is $1,100. Payment can be made online or by certified cheque or money order to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario. Appeal forms and fee reduction requests are available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website. If the e-file portal is unavailable, appeals may be submitted to clerks@clarington.net.
