Clarington Council Schedules Community Barbecue at Orono Park for August 24
Clarington Council announced it will hold a community barbecue at Orono Park, 61 Princess Street, Orono, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from noon to 3 p.m. The event is open to all Clarington residents, according to the municipality.
The municipality stated that this barbecue is part of the 2024-27 Strategic Plan, which includes increasing opportunities for civic engagement and public participation.
Mayor Adrian Foster, Council members, and volunteers from the Newcastle Lions Club will serve lunch, as outlined in the announcement. Scheduled activities include free swimming at the Orono Park Pool, inflatables, games, scavenger hunts, community booths, entertainment, and a meet and greet with the Mayor and Council members.
Clarington Council advised that all food and activities are first-come, first-served. No registration is required. Free parking will be available at Orono Fair Grounds, with drop-off access at Orono Park. Additional event details are available on the Clarington municipal website.
