Clarington fall recreation registration opens Sept. 2; programs include swimming, fitness and 55+ offerings
Registration for Clarington’s fall recreation programs opens Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 a.m., including fall swimming lessons, group fitness classes, 55+ Active Adult programs and recreation programs for all ages, according to the Municipality of Clarington.
The municipality said residents registering online should expect high demand and may be placed in an online queue.
The municipality also tied several fall offerings to the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre, which it says will open this fall. According to the municipality, the first programs planned for the new facility will run in a FIFA-sized multi-sport dome.
The municipality also announced “Her Game, Our Goal,” described as free tennis and soccer programs for girls. The municipality said the initiative is supported by Tennis Canada with National Bank and the MLSE Foundation.
The municipality said it is launching Clarington Sports Leagues, starting with adult co-ed soccer.
Clarington also announced a “Swim, Skate & Walk” membership. The municipality said the membership will provide access to swimming, skating and a three-lane indoor walking track at the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre’s dome.
In-person registration will be available during regular hours at the Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre, Courtice Community Complex, Diane Hamre Recreation Complex, Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex and South Courtice Arena, the municipality said.
