Clarington Libraries Set Fall 2025 Book Club Schedules for Multiple Branches
The Clarington Library, Museums & Archives has scheduled book clubs for the fall of 2025 at the Newcastle, Bowmanville, and Courtice branches. Book clubs will be available for adults as well as children in grades 3 to 7. The library requires registration for all book club programs.
These book clubs offer residents opportunities to participate in group discussions on selected titles at different locations and times, accommodating both daytime and evening availability. The program includes both adult reading groups and book clubs designed specifically for young readers.
At Newcastle Library, the adult book club will meet on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Scheduled book titles are as follows: "Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus on September 23, "A Calamity of Souls" by David Baldacci on October 28, "The Clockmaker's Daughter" by Kate Morton on November 25, and "By Any Other Name" by Jodi Picoult on December 16.
Bowmanville Library will host a Lunchtime Book Club for adults on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. The selected books are: "Five Little Indians" by Michelle Good on September 24, "Witches of New York" by Ami McKay on October 29, "Midnight Library" by Matt Haig on November 26, and "How to Age Disgracefully" by Clare Pooley on December 17.
For young readers in grades 3 to 7, the Kid's Book Club at Courtice Library meets on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. The reading schedule is: "Elvis, Me and the Lemonade Stand Summer" by Leslie Gentile on September 9, "Fish in a Tree" by Lynda Mullaly Hunt on October 14, and "Karen's Witch" by Ann M. Martin on November 11.
The Kid's Book Club at Newcastle Library meets on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Titles include "Wildfire" by Rodman Phibrick on September 24 and "Other Words for Home" by Jasmine Warga on October 22. The book for November 19 is to be announced.
