Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster posts statement referencing Tumbler Ridge, B.C., “school shooting”

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster posted a statement on the Municipality of Clarington website on Feb. 11 that referred to what he called a “school shooting” in Tumbler Ridge, B.C.

The post, listed in the municipality’s online “Community News” section, offered no additional details about what happened in Tumbler Ridge and did not cite police or other authorities.

In the statement, Foster wrote: “My heart goes out to everyone in Tumbler Ridge, B.C, after this week’s devastatingschool shooting. Like every Canadian parent, my heart breaks for the families in thissmall community going through this terrible tragedy. Our community in Claringtonshares the sorrow, and our thoughts are with everyone navigating this unbearably toughtime.”
