Clarington Scheduled to Receive $3.3 Million from Federal Infrastructure Fund in 2025-2026

According to Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada, the Government of Canada says it will provide more than $748 million through the Canada Community-Building Fund for 652 recipients in Ontario during the 2025-2026 funding period. The Municipality of Clarington is scheduled to receive $3,321,747.

The scheduled funding is significant for Clarington and the broader Durham Region, as it outlines federal allocations for local infrastructure projects. These figures allow residents to understand how much funding is planned for their community, as well as for neighbouring municipalities.

The Regional Municipality of Durham is scheduled to receive $22,822,481. Other nearby municipalities and their scheduled allocations are: Town of Ajax at $4,148,327, City of Pickering at $3,248,353, City of Oshawa at $5,743,815, and Town of Whitby at $4,535,925.

The federal backgrounder states that eligible uses for the Canada Community-Building Fund include municipal infrastructure projects. Funds can be applied to categories such as roads, public transit, water infrastructure, and housing supply. These spending categories are outlined by Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada as purposes for the program.
