Clarington Seeks Input from Residents Aged 55+ on New Cultural Heritage Programs
The Municipality of Clarington has launched a survey to collect input from residents aged 55 and older on new cultural heritage programming. According to a municipal announcement dated May 23, 2025, the survey—Clarington Cultural Connections – Older Adult Survey—requests feedback on art, music, dance, cooking, and storytelling programs planned for summer 2025 through spring 2026. The initiative is funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
The survey is gathering information on participants’ activity interests, suggestions for cultural representation in programming, scheduling preferences, and opportunities to share personal traditions. According to the municipality, responses to the survey will be used to help design future programming for older adults in Clarington.
Residents may participate in the survey from May 22 to June 22, 2025. Access to the survey is available online at www.clarington.net/CulturalConnections. Paper copies can be obtained at Town Hall, Diane Hamre Recreation Complex, Courtice Community Complex, Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, and South Courtice Arena. Clarington Connected kiosks at these locations also provide access to the survey.
