Clarington to hold Feb. 10 virtual public information centre on Coastal Process Study and shoreline concepts
Clarington will hold a virtual public information centre on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to present findings from its Coastal Process Study and design concepts for work at the Graham Creek Jetties and Bond Head Beach, according to a notice posted on the municipality’s website. Residents must register in advance.
The municipality says the session will outline what it has learned so far about coastal conditions along Lake Ontario and what it is proposing for the two shoreline sites.
According to the municipality, the Coastal Process Study is being carried out along Lake Ontario in partnership with the Government of Canada, with technical support from the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority.
The municipality says the study began in summer 2025.
Clarington says the study is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Great Lakes Freshwater Ecosystem Initiative, which is providing the municipality with $100,000 over a two-year period.
The municipality says the project is now in the design phase. It calls the design concepts “nature-based solutions” aimed at improving the functionality and resilience of the Graham Creek Jetties and Bond Head Beach.
