The Municipality of Clarington says its forestry team will hold free tree-pruning demonstrations at four parks on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, with sessions in Courtice, Newcastle, Orono and Bowmanville.

The municipality says the demonstrations will show residents what proper pruning looks like and provide basic tree-care information people can use at home.

Clarington says the sessions will cover why pruning is used, how and when trees should be pruned, and what municipal arborists do to care for Clarington’s tree canopy. The municipality says each demonstration will also include time for questions.

Two morning demonstrations are scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Rosswell Park, 141 Rosswell Drive in Courtice.

A second morning session will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Newcastle Community Park, 1780 Rudell Road in Newcastle.

In the afternoon, a demonstration is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. at Orono Park, 61 Princess Street in Orono.

Another afternoon demonstration is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. at Guildwood Park, 180 Guildwood Drive in Bowmanville.

Clarington says no registration is required. Parking will be available at each location but may be limited, and the municipality says outdoor washrooms or portable toilets will be available on site.
