Cookies n' Cream Fudge Recalled in Ontario for Undeclared Wheat

A recall has been issued for Alexander's Fudge brand Cookies n' Cream Fudge in Ontario due to undeclared wheat on the label, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in a notice posted on August 1, 2025.

The CFIA states that people who are allergic or sensitive to wheat, or who have celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders, may experience serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the recalled product.

The affected product is the 225-gram package of Alexander's Fudge Cookies n' Cream Fudge, bearing UPC 6 28250 24007 8 and code 09-25-25. According to the CFIA, this recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The agency reports that one reaction associated with consumption of this product has been reported.

The CFIA states that the product is being removed from the marketplace while a food safety investigation is underway. The agency noted that further recalls may follow if additional affected products are identified.

The CFIA advisory instructs that the recalled fudge should not be consumed, served, used, sold, or distributed. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

This action is categorized by the agency as a Class 2 food recall warning and applies to product distribution within Ontario.
