Courtice Fitness Training Centre to Close Early on July 4 for Equipment Reorganization

The Courtice Fitness Training Centre will close at noon on Friday, July 4 for equipment reorganization, according to a statement from the centre. The facility is scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.

The equipment reshuffling is intended to allow staff to remove old items, create additional space, and prepare for new equipment arriving the following week, according to the centre. The centre stated that gym users may experience noise during periods when new equipment is assembled and installed.

According to details released by the centre, several pieces of equipment will be replaced:

  • A selectorized strength lower back extension machine
  • A lower back extension bench
  • Two half racks with oak platforms
  • A Jelly-Bell rack with a full class set of dumbbells for the Courtice fitness studio
  • A selectorized strength chest press, which is expected to arrive in August

In addition to these replacements, new items will be added:

  • More bumper plates
  • Stroops functional training accessories and racks
  • A plate-loaded hack squat machine
  • An additional television

The centre attributed the addition of new equipment to floor space gained from renovations completed last summer.
