Courtice Road closed until July 3 between Bloor Street and north of Baseline Road West for sewer work

Courtice Road (Regional Road 34) is closed day and night until July 3 between Bloor Street (Regional Road 22) and a point 585 metres north of Baseline Road West in Courtice, according to Durham Region. The Region said the closure is for installation of a sanitary sewer to support new development.

The closure may affect travel in the area, with detour routes posted. Durham Region said access for local residents will be maintained and businesses along the corridor will remain open during construction.

Durham Region said unfavourable weather may affect the work schedule.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews, the Region said.
