Durham Region says it will put daytime lane restrictions on Regional Road 3 in the Municipality of Clarington from May 4 to June 30, 2027, running from east of Townline Road (Regional Road 55) to west of Enfield Road (Regional Road 34). One lane of traffic will remain open.

The lane restrictions are tied to a reconstruction project to rebuild and widen Regional Road 3, according to the region’s notice.

Durham Region says unfavourable weather conditions may affect the work schedule.

The notice also says construction activities will shut down for the winter period from December 1 until May 1, 2027.

In addition to the May–June 2027 lane restrictions, the notice says a full road closure will be required “this summer,” but it does not list dates.

Durham Region says businesses in the area will remain open throughout the duration of the construction.

Durham Region is asking drivers to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews.
