DRT and Unifor Local 222 Reach Tentative Agreement, Regular Service to Continue

Durham Region Transit (DRT) and Unifor Local 222 have reached a tentative agreement, according to a DRT announcement on Friday evening. Unifor Local 222 represents operators, maintenance staff, customer service representatives, and other personnel. The tentative agreement is subject to a ratification vote by Unifor Local 222 members.

According to DRT officials, regular transit service will continue in all eight municipalities during the ratification process. DRT stated that it will not implement any contingency service changes for the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025, and that all scheduled services will remain in effect.

DRT said that if Unifor Local 222 members approve the tentative agreement, it will be referred to the Durham Regional Transit Commission for final approval.
