DRT detours Routes 917 and 227 in Ajax due to Dowty Road and Hunt Street closure

Durham Region Transit is detouring Routes 917 and 227 in Ajax starting Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, due to a road closure on Dowty Road and Hunt Street between Fairall Street and Harwood Avenue. The detours remain in place until further notice.

All stops on the closed segments are out of service, while stops on Station Street continue to be served. The changes affect passengers who normally board along Dowty Road and Hunt Street near the closure.

Route 917 is detouring via Station Street and Harwood Avenue.

Route 227 is detouring via Station Street, Harwood Avenue and Bayly Street.

All stops on Dowty Road between Fairall Street and Hunt Street, and on Hunt Street between Dowty Road and Harwood Avenue, are not being served during the detour.

All stops on Station Street remain in service.
