DRT On Demand trips to resume Tuesday after booking app outage
Whitby, Ontario — A technical issue affecting Durham Region Transit’s On Demand booking app has been resolved, and all On Demand trips will resume Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025. Fixed‑route bus service continues to operate.
DRT attributed the Oct. 20 disruption to broader challenges at the app vendor’s cloud infrastructure provider, which impacted the app’s functionality.
Trip details will reappear in the booking app Tuesday, allowing riders to view their scheduled information again.
The update was posted Monday, Oct. 20, on DRT’s website under a Whitby dateline and described the event as a temporary outage. The notice lists “When: October 21, 2025” and “Where: On Demand trip details will appear in the booking app,” and states the cause as vendor cloud infrastructure issues that affected the app on Oct. 20.
