Durham College and Ayrshire College Form International Partnership for Education and Industry

Durham College and Ayrshire College in Scotland announced a new international partnership on June 23, 2025. Representatives from both institutions stated the agreement focuses on educational exchange, applied research, and industry collaboration across various sectors.

According to the colleges, the partnership is intended to support the creation of joint training programs and collaborative projects that address workforce needs. The institutions expect students and faculty involved in these initiatives to gain international experience and practical learning opportunities.

Officials from both colleges reported that a team from Ayrshire College recently visited Durham College to discuss possible areas of cooperation. These discussions covered topics such as dual-delivery pilot programs, post-graduation pathways, corporate training, and workforce upskilling, with attention to labour market demands.

Robin Young, Director of Corporate Training Services at Durham College, said, “By working together with our colleagues in Scotland, we created meaningful opportunities for our learners and industry partners to innovate and grow on an international scale.”

Alistair Rodgers, Director of Enterprise Development at Ayrshire College, stated, "Formalizing our collaboration with Durham College marks a significant milestone for Ayrshire College, as we continue to advance our international ambitions. This partnership will open up valuable opportunities for staff, students and industry partners to share knowledge, exchange best practices and drive innovation on a global scale across a diverse range of sectors."
