Durham College says more than 2,000 new students are starting January-entry programs

More than 2,000 new students are starting January-entry programs at Durham College this winter, according to a college post published Jan. 13.

The college said the January intake brings new students onto campus alongside thousands of returning students as the winter semester gets underway, with orientation and academic events scheduled for students.

“Our winter welcome is about more than just orientation — it’s about creating a sense of belonging from day one,” said Lucy Romao Vandepol, Durham College’s director of student and career development, in the Jan. 13 post.

For students who are new to Canada, Durham College said its International Education Office and the Durham College Student Association are hosting activities that include a campus scavenger hunt, a winter wellness workshop, and a student-led networking event.

The college’s post also profiled Johannes Ochensthaler, an international student from Munich, Germany, who is starting the Marketing – Business Administration program this semester.

Among the January-start programs mentioned were Accounting – Business and Accounting – Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence Analysis, Design and Implementation, and Computer Programming and Analysis.

Durham College said space remains available in select programs that begin in January.
