Durham College schedules Fall Open House for Nov. 7 at Oshawa and Whitby campuses
Durham College has scheduled its Fall Open House for Saturday, Nov. 7, with events set to take place at its Oshawa and Whitby campuses.
The open house date is listed on Durham College’s website in an Oct. 2 student profile about dental assisting graduate Matthew Adams, which also encourages prospective students to bring questions to the open house.
In the profile, the college says Adams entered its Dental Assisting program after being laid off from the technology industry and visiting the college’s Fall Open House in 2023, where he spoke with Dental Assisting Program Coordinator Kim Stever.
Durham College’s profile says Adams completed a four-week field placement at a Toronto dental practice and received a job offer afterward. The college also says he received its Dental Assisting Academic Achievement Award in his final semester.
According to the college, Adams has continued in several roles since graduating, including serving as Chair of Durham College’s Dental Assisting Program Advisory Committee. The college says he was elected Student Representative for the National Dental Assisting Examination Board for a two-year term and serves as Webinar Convenor with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.
Durham College lists its Oshawa campus at 2000 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa, and its Whitby campus at 1610 Champlain Ave., Whitby.
