Durham Region Chair Marks Canada Day with Statement to Residents

John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of Durham, issued a statement from Whitby on July 1 to mark Canada Day in 2025.

In the statement, Henry described Durham Region as diverse, inclusive, and vibrant, noting its community spirit and pride. He referenced support for local businesses, organizations working to improve residents' lives, and contributions of residents throughout neighbourhoods.

Henry stated that Canada Day is an opportunity for residents to celebrate, spend time with friends and family, or reflect on the country's history and what it means to be Canadian.
