Durham Region Marks National Public Works Week from May 18 to 24, 2025

The Region of Durham has announced that National Public Works Week will be observed locally from May 18 to 24, 2025. The week is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of public works employees across Durham Region.

Public works staff provide municipal services that affect daily life in the area. According to the Region, the Works Department is responsible for supplying clean drinking water, managing sewage collection and treatment, maintaining the Regional road network, and overseeing waste management services for both residents and businesses.

In its announcement, the Region thanked its public works staff for their efforts. No additional events or specific activities related to National Public Works Week were included in the statement.
