Durham Region shifts Friday waste pickup to Saturday, April 4 for Good Friday
Durham Region is moving Friday curbside waste collection in Clarington and several other Durham communities to Saturday, April 4, because of the Good Friday holiday.
The one-day shift affects residents who normally set out garbage, recycling or green bin materials for Friday pickup, and it comes alongside holiday closures at regional waste facilities.
The schedule change applies in Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.
In Oshawa and Whitby, the municipalities handle garbage and green bin collection.
The Regional Waste Management Facilities in Brock, Scugog and Oshawa will be closed Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4. The Household Special Waste Depot in Clarington will also be closed on those two days. Regular operating hours are scheduled to resume Tuesday, April 7.
Durham Region’s Waste Management Centre, at 4600 Garrard Road in Whitby, will be closed Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6.
Collection schedules are posted at durham.ca/Waste, and the region also lists information through its Durham Region Waste app.
