Durham Region to review proposed 2024 property-tax-supported budget at March 19 and March 27 meetings in Whitby

Durham Regional Council and the region’s Finance and Administration Committee are set to review the proposed 2024 property-tax-supported business plans and budget at two morning meetings later this month at Durham Regional Headquarters in Whitby.

The proposed budget outlines spending and related fees and charges funded through the regional property tax levy, including the 2024 regional property tax rates. It also sets out planned funding for a range of regional services.

The Finance and Administration Committee will meet Tuesday, March 19, at 9:30 a.m. at Durham Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

Regional Council will consider the proposed budget at its meeting Wednesday, March 27, at 9:30 a.m. at Durham Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

According to the region’s budget notice, the property-tax-supported plans and budget include regional operations, the Police Services Board, outside agencies, Durham Region Transit and solid waste management, along with related fees and charges.

The budget documents are expected to be available online Friday, March 15, at durham.ca.
