E-bike Rider Dies After Collision with Car in Oshawa

A 50-year-old man died following a collision between an e-bike and a motor vehicle at Harmony Road North and Storie Avenue in Oshawa on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Central East Division officers responded to the incident at around 12:30 p.m., according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The collision involved a southbound e-bike and a northbound Buick Encore that was making a left-hand turn, DRPS reported. The e-bike rider sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police stated that the driver of the Buick was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.

The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene. Roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
