E-Bike Rider Injured in Whitby Collision at Lakeridge and Dundas

A 28-year-old man was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries after a collision involving an e-bike and a motor vehicle in Whitby on Thursday, August 7, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). Police reported the incident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeridge Road South and Dundas Street West.

The DRPS stated the e-bike was traveling eastbound on Dundas Street West when it struck a westbound Toyota Sienna, which was making a left turn to go southbound onto Lakeridge Road South. Following the collision, police closed the area of the roadway to collect evidence.

According to police, the driver of the mini-van was charged with making an unsafe turn. Police have asked anyone with information about this incident to contact Constable Schoch at 905-579-1520. DRPS indicated that anonymous tips can be provided to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
