E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured in Collision at Oshawa Intersection

A 27-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision involving an e-bike and a vehicle in Oshawa on Saturday afternoon, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). The incident took place at approximately 2:50 p.m. on June 28, 2025, at the intersection of Elmgrove Avenue and Cromwell Avenue.

The collision occurred when the man, who was riding an e-bike eastbound on Elmgrove Avenue, was struck by a vehicle heading westbound that turned left in front of him. Police report that the rider was ejected from his e-bike and transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

DRPS stated that members of the Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct their investigation. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with Careless Driving Cause Bodily Harm, police say.

The investigation is ongoing. DRPS is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Traffic Services Branch.
