Family Services Durham Provides One-Session Counselling in Durham Region

Family Services Durham is offering the Here and Now Counselling program, which provides one-session mental health and relationship counselling. According to the Region of Durham, these sessions are delivered by registered psychotherapists and social workers at various locations across Durham Region, with options for remote counselling by video or phone.

The service is intended for people aged 12 or older who live, work, or own property in Durham Region and wish to discuss a particular concern with a counsellor. This allows local residents to access support for a range of issues in a single session setting.

According to the Region of Durham, residents can request a session by completing the Counselling Request Form online or by calling 311 or 1-888-721-0622 on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. After an intake process to determine the present concern, clients may be offered a session within two weeks. Each eligible client can access up to two sessions per month. Fees for the service are determined using a sliding scale and will be discussed during intake.
