Four Charged Following Project Temple Drug Investigation in Beaverton
Four people have been charged after a drug investigation in Beaverton led to the seizure of drugs and cash, according to the Durham Regional Police Service. On June 25, 2025, officers executed three search warrants at residences in Beaverton and Thornhill as part of an operation called "Project Temple."
The investigation, described by police as lasting nearly a month, involved the North Division Criminal Investigative Branch, East Division Crime Team, Drug Enforcement Unit, and Gun and Gang Unit. The case is of local importance because it involved substances seized in Beaverton and resulted in multiple charges against area residents.
Durham Regional Police Service reported seizing more than 100 grams of fentanyl, 550 grams of cocaine, 850 grams of methamphetamine, and $130,000 in cash during the searches.
According to police, Demetri Joshua Dawkins-Rhynie, 27, of Thornhill, was charged with Possession for the Purpose (Cocaine), Possession for the Purpose (Methamphetamine), and Possession for the Purpose (Fentanyl). Nicole Cecilia Wallace, 35, of Beaverton, was charged with Possession for the Purpose (Cocaine) and Possession for the Purpose (Methamphetamine). Matthew Wade Martin Basler, 34, of Beaverton, was charged with Possession for the Purpose (Methamphetamine). Shannon Mark Pols, 51, of Beaverton, was charged with Possession for the Purpose (Cocaine).
Police stated that all four individuals were held for a bail hearing. These allegations have not been proven in court.
