Fresh Prep recalls Chorizo & Sweet Potato Tacos over undeclared wheat, CFIA says

Fresh Prep Foods Inc. is recalling Fresh Prep Chorizo & Sweet Potato Tacos (Chorizo Tacos) because the product contains undeclared wheat, according to a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) notification last updated Feb. 5, 2026. The CFIA said the product was distributed in Alberta and British Columbia.

The notice matters for shoppers who need to avoid wheat, because the CFIA listed the issue as a food allergen (wheat) and advised the public not to use the affected product.

The CFIA’s “What to do” section says people should not use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled tacos.

The affected product is Fresh Prep Chorizo & Sweet Potato Tacos (Chorizo Tacos), 1150 g.

The CFIA notice did not list a UPC for the product. No product code was listed; the notice says the product was delivered from Jan. 17 to Jan. 22, 2026.

The CFIA listed the recall as Class 3 with identification number RA-81564. The recall date is Jan. 28, 2026.
