Frozen cooked lobster meat recalled in New Brunswick due to Staphylococcus aureus
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled frozen cooked lobster meat sold under the R.J. King Fisheries Ltd. and Moncton Fish Market brands in New Brunswick because of microbial contamination with Staphylococcus aureus. The recall date is Sept. 8, 2026.
The agency is advising people and businesses not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products. The recall applies to specific package sizes and date codes that can be used to identify the items.
According to the CFIA, the recalled products include R.J. King Fisheries Ltd. “Frozen Cooked Lobster Meat CK” in 1-pound packages (UPC: none) with these codes:
- Frozen on: 05/12/26 — Best Before Date: 05/12/28
- Frozen on: 05/15/26 — Best Before Date: 05/15/28
- Frozen on: 05/18/26 — Best Before Date: 05/18/28
- Frozen on: 05/19/26 — Best Before Date: 05/19/28
The same R.J. King Fisheries Ltd. product is also included in 2-pound packages (UPC: none) with the same frozen-on and best-before codes.
The CFIA also lists Moncton Fish Market “Frozen Cooked Lobster Claw and Knuckle Meat” in 1-pound packages (UPC: none) with these codes:

- Production: 2026/MA/15 — Best Before: 2028/MA/15
- Production: 2026/MA/18 — Best Before: 2028/MA/18

The CFIA lists R.J. King Fisheries Ltd. as the recalling firm. The agency classified the action as a Class 2 recall and assigned identification number RA-82632. The recall was published as a notification and was last updated on Sept. 22, 2026, the CFIA said.
