George Street Work in Bowmanville to Begin Late June, Municipality Says
Reconstruction is scheduled to begin the week of June 23, 2025, on George Street West between North Street and Manvers Road, and on George Street East between Mill Street North and Beaver Street North in Bowmanville, according to the Municipality of Clarington. The municipality states that the work is expected to last about 20 weeks, although the timeline may change depending on weather and other factors.
The planned project is described by the municipality as including the replacement of aging watermain infrastructure, upgrades to stormwater drainage, curb and sidewalk improvements, and full road reconstruction. The municipality states these actions are intended to address ongoing issues related to road deterioration and drainage in the area.
According to the municipality, property access for vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained throughout construction, except for short periods when work is happening directly in front of driveways or walkways. Municipal updates also indicate that garbage and recycling collection, as well as deliveries, will continue without interruption during the project.
